light & pattern
2012-2013
The majority of my second year of study was devoted to the 'Light & Pattern' project.
Inspired by a photograph of the Berliner Dome taken the year before- it was an experiment into the atmosphere created by architecture. The project focused on transformation through the use of light: cheap, everyday materials were rearranged into organic and geometric forms to create an ephemeral effect.
The sculptures grew in complexity and scale, culminating in 'Monolith', a 3m sphere with the first sculpture of the series suspended inside.
